Working closely with other members of the Legal and Compliance team, the postholder will contribute to the day-to-day legal operations of the School, providing expert, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice to colleagues, advising them on contractual and legal issues, and contributing to information compliance activities. This includes Intellectual Property, Contracts (excluding research-related ones), Data Protection, and legal support for all LSHTM’s global activities. No two days will be the same for the post-holder.You will hold a higher education in Law to degree level along with professional qualification in law (e.g. LPC, BVC, SQE, international equivalent). Previous experience of working as a legal or contracts professional, paralegal or legal assistant, or providing support to a legal and/or compliance team, e.g. at a firm of solicitors, with an in-house legal team, and/or at a Citizens Advice Bureau/law clinic is essential. The Assistant Archivist manages the Archives Assistant, and occasional volunteers and placement students working within Archives & Records Management This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their skills and experience across a number of responsibilities in a wide-ranging role.The post holder manages the Archive Search Room, trains staff and volunteers, oversees enquiries and appointments and the administration of associated records, and promotes the archives.
